Embroidering on a 100-year-old machine to embellish a piece of fabric can be slow and involved. There is no standing back and waiting for the product to appear. Embroidering with a Cornely chain stitch machine gives the material a look that cannot be replicated with a computerized model. The first analogy that comes to mind when describing the difference is in music. There's a noticeable difference between listening to a vinyl album versus a digital platform.
When thinking of one-off projects, we are lured by their size and scale. In reality, custom projects can also include simple, understated, and elegant. Favorite designs of flowers or birds on a patch, your logo on the back of a jacket, or even cursive lettering to display an inspiring quotation on a linen handbag adds variety and beauty to your apparel. Mass production is not my goal. I do one or two of a kind pieces, depending on the drawing or blueprint. However, I am flexible enough to make an exception.
When contacting me either by telephone or email, we begin by discussing the feasibility of transferring your concepts into an embroidered piece. Part of our discussions will include the complexity of the design, and materials such as threads and fabrics. The hourly shop rate on a custom project is 75 dollars plus the cost of supplies.
